Who We Are

Bestspring Children & Youth Development Foundation is a grassroot-based Non-Governmental Organization that advocates for the rights of vulnerable children and youths. Our mandate is to heal hurts and restore hope to indigent and streetwise children/youths through the provision of steady, qualitative and holistic education/empowerment; both in form of formal education, public/social enlightenment and skill acquisition. Founded in 2002 as a freelance group supporting indigent children across Nigeria, Bestspring Foundation became formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a non-governmental, not-for-profit, non-partisan organization in 2010.

In a world plagued by the surge of injustice, gender inequality, poverty, moral decadence, social menace, school dropout, truancy, teenage pregnancy, emergency adulthood, sickness, confusion and apathy, especially amongst youths, there is urgent need to salvage the next generation from the stronghold of ignorance, recklessness and poverty, which sometimes culminates in sheer waste of valuable human resources and consequently leads to self-destruction. This, amongst others was the vision that birthed Bestspring Children & Youth Development Foundation.

Our work base is in Ijegun, in the lkotun axis of Alimoso Local Government Area of Lagos State. Although densely populated, Ijegun is largely enmeshed in poverty and illiteracy, with high rate of child labour, school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, risky sexual behaviors and its attendant STDs & STIs, unemployment, human trafficking and wanton waste of human resources and talents. Due to the poverty rate, which is very high, many youths, especially girls are vulnerable.

Our Vision

Healing hurts… Restoring hope… Giving every child a platform to excel.
